As we walked into Oscar’s 1950’s diner-style interior, decorated with classic posters and old tapestries with a large Godzilla poster right at the entrance, the music playing was 50’s jukebox style. We were greeted with the smell of warm coffee and were quickly and politely shown to our table. The booth seats were as if we were sitting in clouds, we all could sit there for ages and never have a sore bottom. Then, we were given a large menu filled with mouth-watering breakfast choices and after close examination and careful consideration we decided to order our meals.
To begin, Cody ordered the Eggs Benedict, which he gave a 9/10. The soft and creamy eggs paired perfectly with what he called the best benedict sauce he had ever had. The sausage, while slightly salty for his liking, still had a sweet flavor and was incredibly tender.
Stephen ordered the Denver Omelet, which he also gave a 9/10. The wide variety of crunchy vegetables all blended well together inside a warm and fluffy omelet. Although he wished that there was more ham in the omelet, overall, the ingredients came together to create a delicious breakfast.
Finally, Brady ordered the country fried steak, which received the highest score, a 10/10. The incredibly tender and well-breaded steak with thick and creamy white gravy combined to create a memorable meal that was both salty and savory.
The Oscars experience as a whole was incredible. The food, atmosphere, and service were all some of the best that you would find in Jefferson City. This is certainly a spot that will have to be revisited for another round.
