Pickleball Club, organized by Coach Bell, Mrs. Thomas, and Coach Yarnell, is a club where students compete against other students in a friendly manner in a game of Pickleball. What started as a small club has now exploded in popularity, with more than one hundred members regularly attending. Cash Garvin and Jonas Schanuth, the student founders of Pickleball Club, were praised by Coach Bell for their success in creating such a large club, “I’m proud of Jonah and Cash for adding opportunities for Helias Catholic to grow.”
Currently, the Pickleball Club is held every Wednesday after school, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Students go to Lincoln University and meet up with their fellow members. With the upcoming winter season, Pickleball will continue to be held inside Lincoln University, until the Spring, which they plan to continue in Binder Park.
Pickleball Club requires no previous experience and experienced members are willing to provide training to new members. Although competitive, Pickleball Club is meant for students to have fun and enjoy a new, different sport. Pickleball Club offers new opportunities for students and they are sure to enjoy it.
