E-Sports, a competitive club run by Mrs. Mengwasser, allows students to represent Helias through a variety of video games. Students form teams and compete in many games, including, but not limited to, Overwatch, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Valorant, Rocket League, and more. In E-Sports, especially in Overwatch, many students work as a team and each individual has their respective role to play, such as the tank class, which is meant to absorb damage, support class, which is meant to help their teammates, and DPS (Damage Per Second), which is meant to play the offensive and deal damage to the enemy team.
E-Sports is open to both new and experienced players and is held from 3-5 PM every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, giving more opportunities to students with a busy schedule. E-Sports also has competitions with other schools every week, keeping students engaged and active.
“With every competitive activity and the pressures that come with it, make sure that your first priority is having fun and enjoying the time with the people you are with.”
