We went to Panera in search of their acclaimed sandwiches and bread. Walking in, a modern interior with a coffee shop vibe and comfortable aesthetic greeted us. After ordering our food of choice, we snagged a small black buzzer that would vibrate when our order was ready. We made our way to a booth, which had sound-insulating walls, giving it a private feeling and making it the perfect spot to get work done without distractions. After only five short minutes, our buzzer had gone off, signaling that our food was ready. We grabbed our sandwiches and sat down to dig in.To begin, Stephen ordered a bacon double take, which he gave a rating of 8/10. With the perfectly melted cheese, crispy, fluffy bread, and bacon cooked to a crispy perfection, it was almost the perfect sandwich, however it lacked in bacon quantity. Most of the flavor came from the bread and cheese. The few bacon strips placed along the bottom of the bun barely added to the flavor. Overall, Stephen enjoyed his sandwich, stating that it was by far the best bacon and cheese sandwich he had tasted.
Brady ordered a scrambled egg and ham sandwich, to which he also gave an 8/10. The well seasoned, fluffy eggs and melted white cheese paired with each other very well. The toasted and flavorful bread was also just as good as advertised. But, once again, the quantity of meat was not to his liking. While the ham was tender and complimented the other parts of the sandwich well, the small sample size did leave something to be desired. However, Brady still enjoyed his sandwich, describing it as one of the better breakfast sandwiches on the market.
Panera was a highly enjoyable experience, with well-constructed sandwiches, and bread that absolutely lived up to the hype. However, if you are someone who likes a large quantity of meat in your sandwich, then you might be a little disappointed in the amount you are served.
